Internationally renowned for it’s immense speed, today we went on the bullet train!  We’ve traveled from Hiyoshi by Yokohama to Kyoto which took just under 2 hours- the google map linked there reckons this should be about 4 hours sans-bullet train!

We arrived at Colombo airport at 13:15 on the 4th (local time).  It was boiling! As you get off the plane you pass like 5 or 6 tiny market stall kind of shops selling washing machines and stereo’s.
